. Miss K. Langkide, of. Palmerston North, is a visitor to Auckland.

Miss Simpson, of Closcburn, Bonny Gleu, Marton, is at present in Palmerston North.

Mr and' Mrs Bruce Fraser, Gisborne, were the guests of Mrs Fraser’s parents, ilr and Mrs L. B. Wall, for the Woodford Houso Old Girls’ ball last evening.

Mrs Sam Hanna (Auckland), is the guest of her mother, Mrs A. Guy, Palmerston North, and -was among those present at the Woodford House Old Girl’s ball last night.

Miss Mary Wall (Hatuma) is the guest of Mr and Airs L. B. Wall, Kairanga, and attended the Woodford House Old Girl’s bail at Palmerston North last evening.

Miss Jean Begg, national general secretary' of t-lio Y.W.C.A. for India, Burma and Ceylon, who has been spending her furlough in New Zealand, was a visitor to Palmerston North yesterday afternoon. Sho proceeded to Auckland last evening, and before returning to India will visit America on the invitation of the Y.W.C.A., to interpret India as she finds it.

Sympathy will bo felt with Mrs N. D. Clinton, of Lim.brick street, and Mr J. Blummont, of Church street, in the passing recently at Wellington of their mother, Airs Clara Alaliett. Of latter years Airs Alaliett had spent varying periods with the members of her fainilv, and it was following a visit to Palmerston North that she went to Wellington, where her health took a serious turn. She was admitted to hospital, where she passed away 10 days ago.
