June Bride-to-be Happily Honoured
j.n view of her approaching marriage to Mr. Dick Joyce, of Eltham, Miss Pita Jackson, of Albert street, was tendered a gift evening by Miss M. N. Wilson, at her home at 165 Featherston street, on Tuesday last. The rooms were brightly decorated with Iceland poppies and other early spring flowers and there were about sixty' guests present to enjoy the gathering. The guest of honour was made the recipient of many' charming tokens, Mr. Pat Cope returning thanks on her behalf. Games and competitions occupied the time and a very happy evening was brought to a close with musical honours for Miss Jackson, and the singing of “Auld LangSyne.” St. Pat’s Tennis Club entertained Miss Jackson in the Parish hall at a very jolly function. Dancing and games provided entertainment and items were contributed by Father H\ - iiliy', • Miss Myra Wilson, Messrs. Dennis O’Brien, and Pat Cope., During the evening opportunity was taken by Father Herlihy, president, of the club, to present Miss Jackson with a solid leather suit case in appreciate t. of her services as a committee member. Mr. Pat. Cope expressing thanks on behalf of the bride-to-be.
