Davis Cup Match Draw Announced

AUSTRALIA v. NEW ZEALAND

United Press Association.— By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. LONDON, May 9. The draw for tho first round of the Davis Cup tennis match between Australia and New Zealand, which is to commence at Devonshire Park, Eastbourne, on Saturday, is as follows (Australian players mentioned first: Saturday, May 11 J. H. Crawford v. E. D. Andrews. V. B. McGrath v. A. C. Stcdman. Monday, May 13 J. H. Crawford and A. K. Quist v. A. C. Stcdman and C. E. Malfroy. Tuesday, May 14. J. H. Crawford v A. C. Stedman. V. B. McGrath v. E. D. Andrews. The singles on Saturday and Tuesday will commence at 2.30 p.m., and the doubles on Monday will commence at 2.43 p.m. New balls will be brought into play for every seventh game Flay will close at 7 o’clock each evening unless the captains agree that tho light is sufficiently good to justify continuing.

New Zealand and Australia are meeting in the lower half of the European zone and the winners will be drawn to meet Franco, Germany or Italy, which had byes in the first round. The countries in tho upper half are Poland, South Africa, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Japan, and Holland.
