Aorangi

OPENING- OF PING PONG SEASON

The opening of the Aorangi ping pong club took place on Thursday evening when 11 handicap tournaments, .1 for ladies and 1 for men, provided the entertainment. The tournaments were open to all other clubs and the evening proved a pleasant one. Players being in attendance from Feilding, Colyton, Makino, Te Arakura and Bunnythrope. After supper Mr. J. M. Wurie (patron) presented the prizes to the winnei'3 who were Miss F. Bruce and Mr M. Laing (Makino.) The summers up were Miss L. Gore and Mr. R. L. Tait. Following, ping pong dancing took place and was kept up till one o'clock to lively music provided by local musicians. In Aid of Maori Mission Funds.

A jolly dance in aid of Maori Mission funds was held locally last week and-. Mrs Mason Curie .is organising another to be held next month for the same worthy cause.;Advertisements, giy ing tho date and ■further details of the danco will appear iu the “Times” in due course. , A street stall of which; Mrs Durie will be in charge will be stationed in Feilding on Friday next. The profits from this also will go to the Mission funds. Produce of any kind will be gratefully received and it is hoped the stall will be well patronise by a sympathetic public-
