From Our Own Correspondent. The weekly shoot, of the Rifle Club was very well attended. The trophy donated for the pairs shooting was won by P. Ellery and N. Leet with a total of 275. Individual scores were: —P. Ellery 70, OS, 13S; 11. Ellery 68, 70, 13S; J. Simpson 68, 70, 138; N. Leet 69, 68, 137; M. Klatt 67, 69, 136; J. Cockburn 68, 6’S, 136; G. Wiggins 66. 09, 135; P. Simpson 67, 6S, 135; E. Simpson 67, 67, 134; J. Ellery 67, 07, 34; C. Cockburn 65, 69, 134 ; W. Robinson 65, 6S, 133; J. Frecklington 63, 67, 130; S. Quinlan 66, 63, 129; B. Ellery 66, 62, 12S; G. Gray 58,. 67, 25; B. Leahy 61, 58, 119; R. Simpson 55, 60, 115. Tlic school committee met on Monday to discuss arrangements for the forthcoming celebrations of tho King’s jubilee. After considerable discussion it was decided to await particulars of the programme arrangements for the county function. Messrs. H. Ellery and N. Leet were deputed to attend the meeting at Rongotea with power to act. The representatives of the Sanson Football Club met members of the local club on Monday to discuss arrangements regarding tho proposed third grade football teams from both districts. Satisfactory arrangements wero made and it is probuble that both clubs will be represented in the competition. The school committee has received notification from the Education Board that Miss Prances Wade has been appointed assistant at the school. Miss Wade will take over her permanent duties on May 27. The friends of Mrs. J. Capstick will be pleased to learn that she is making a satisfactory recovery from her recent operation in a private hospital.
