Appeal for Firewood

CENTRAL RELIEF DEPOT’S SUPPLIES RUNNING SHORT In regard to the Central Relief wood depot, Mr. A. Langley-, who has charge of this important department of the Relief Committee’s activities, reports that although there is a small quantity of wood still available for those in need, the supply- will soon be exhausted. In order to meet requirements—to keep the home fires burning during the winter months—Mr. Langley would be pleased to hear from farmers and other settlers within easy reach of Palmerston North who may have trees they would be willing to give to the Central Relief Committee. The committee is prepared to provide the necessary labour to cut up the trees, and also the transport to ’ bring the wood to the .depot. In addition, he undertakes to havo tho ground cleaned up.after the wood has been removed.
