Girl Citizen and Community Gathering

There was a Girl Citizen and Community gathering at the Y.W.C.A. elubrooms Iqst evening, when some GO girls, together with friends and parents, attended. The first part of the evening took tho form of an enrolment ceremony, when 28 girls were admitted into the Girl Citizen movement. This was followed by a candlelighting ceremonial in which all took part. The chief counsellor, Aliss C. Ashton, gave a short address, putting before tho members the part they could play in building up Girl Citizen traditions.

Aliss Ashton introduced Aliss Jean Stevenson and Aliss Hindlo to the Girl Citizens, who conveyed an appropriate welcome. Opportunity was taken later to make a presentation to Aliss Alavis Oameroii, counsellor and board member, who is shortly to bo married, The presentation of a pair of brass candlesticks was made by Aliss Margaret Hay on behalf of the board members and Girl Citizens. Aliss Cameron briefly expressed, her .thanks and appreciation of tho many happy hours she had spent with Girl Citizens. Supper and tlio singing' 01. “Auld Lang Syne” brought tho meeting to a close.
