Mr. and'Mrs. Janies Gillespie, Halaitai, Wellington, arc the guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Pearce, Ecilding. Recent callers at the High Commissioner’s office iii London were Mrs. E. R. Holben, of Palmerston North, and her granddaughter, Aliss H- Brookcr. Mrs. M. Sliero and her two sons, Alex, and Charlie, have returned to their homo in Eitzberbort West, after spending a holiday at Wellington. Air. and Airs. S. D. Pearce, York street, Ecilding, have returned homo after a motor trip to New Plymouth and Alount Egmont. Aliss Jean Stevenson, national secretary of tho Y.W.C.A., arrived in Palmerston North yesterday, ami proceeds to Whangarci this evening. Aliss Phyllis Hindie, successor to Aliss C. Asliton as general secretary of the Palmerston North Y.W.C.A., arrived in Palmerston North yesterday in preparation for taking over from Miss Ashton on Alav 10. Aliss Hindie has been on tho staff of the Dunedin association for the past four years, where she was in charge of programme work for senior clubs.
