Second Episode of “Tailspin Tommy”
THIS WEEK TELLS HOW “THE MAIL GOES THROUGH” (Slato: Screening Saturday.) ‘ ‘Tailspin Tommy’ ’ is current for Saturday matinees. The second episode is due this week-end. Here is an event of interest, to every grownup and youngster, who attends Universal’s thrilling twelve-chapter aerial serial, based on the cartoon strip by Hal Forrest.
Tommy, working desperately, manages to free Howe from the controls, righUi the ’piano and upon reaching Three Point Airport tries to land, a minor craclt-up resulting. In tho wreckage is discovered Tommy's pal Skeeter, who has stowed away. Everyone ignores Tommy until Ilowe regains consciousness and tells what Tommy has done. Paul .Smith, owner of the Three Point Airlines, gives Tommy a job as a mechanic and makes Skeeter his assistant, The pilots giro Tommy, Who seems to be a natural born pilot, flying lessons. Smith, t.o celebrate the signing of the air mail and mining contracts which Tommy has won for him, stages an air circus. Tommy by this time has become tremendously interested in Betty Lou Barnes. *
At the air circus, Skeeter warms up a ship for Pilot Slack. He doesn’t use tho brakes and tho ’plane gets away, careering about tho field and finally heading for a group of children. Tom'iy climbs into another, ’plane. Skeetqr
jumps from the runaway, and Tommy crashes into it to stop it. He is thrown from the cockpit of the ’plane, apparently killed
