Havelock Wedding Of District Interest

TRIGGS—STEWART. Wearing a graceful frock of ivory satin fashioned on simple, fitting lines the skirt flared into a train, Mollie Campbell, older daughter of Mr and Mrs 11. N. Stewart, To Mata road, Uavolock North, made a charming bride at her marriage to Noel Stuart, youngest son of Mr and Mrs F. WTriggs, “Clovcll'y,” Napier, celebrated at St. Luke’s Church, Uavolock North, during Easter. Archdeacon K. E. MacLoan officiated.

With the frocks, which featured a draped front nocklino caught at each side with a tiny diamante clasp and a cross-over effect at the back finished at the end of the V with a similar clasp, were worn white satin sandals, and a lovely circular veil of rose-point Brussels lace worn by both the bridegroom’s sisters. This was arranged ou tho head with a pointed tiara of pearls, over the face when entering tho church and later thrown back on tho head. Her arm shower was composed of cream chrysanthemums, roses and ferns. Four maids attendod tho bride, these being the Misses Betty Brathwaite (chief), Norma Stewart (tho bride’s sister), Phyllis Candy and Enid Cotterill. Their gowns were of dcphiniuin blue georgette fashioned with bateau necklines finished with berthas caught in front with crimson velvet flowers and they had tiny buttons down the bodice at the back. The flared skirts worn over taffeta were finished with vandyked frills and sashes from the sides of tho waist were tired in bows at tho back. Silver kid shoes were worn and the bridegroom’s gifts, diamante tiaras. Each maid carried a lovely trailing bouquet of crimson flowers and fern.

Tho bridesmaids entered the church before the brido ond later came a dainty flower girl, little Janet McKinnon, the bridegroom’s niece, who wore a Kate Greenaway frock of ivory satin with puff sleeves and long full skirt. Her slippers and headband wero blue. The little flower girl carried a white satin cushion fitted with rose petals and finished with a spray of orgauge blossom, this being mado and given by the bridegroom’s grandmother, Mrs E. King, of Napier. Later, tho bride, who entered tho church with her father, knelt ou the cushion. Lovely bows of bronzo and gold chrysanthemums were placed in the church while oil the altar were vases containing flowers in similar shades mingled with white dehlias and ehry san the mum s. Mr Alan Thomson, of Napier, fulfilled tho duties of best man, and tho groomsmen were Messrs Alan Smith, Spencer Triggs aud Duster Stewart. Messrs Brian Appleby, J. W. Benson, Bill Rainbow, and J. Moodic were * ushers.

After the ceremony the guests motored to tho homo of tho bride’s parents, where the reception was held. Many jolly speachcs were made, the toast to the biidc and bridegroom being proposed by Dr. Reeve. Tho brido cut the lovely three-tiered square wedding cake, a deep cream in colour and the top tier finished with a dainty silver vase of pink nerinc. Over the bridal couple hung a lovely pink and white wedding bell, while masses of golden chrysanthemums and scarlet oak leaves were used to decorate the marquee. Inside tho house, where the many lovely presents were displayed, beautiful chrysanthemums and leaves were artistically arranged. "When the young couple left for their honeymoon, the brido travelled in a nigger brown tailored costume worn with a blouse of shrimp pink suede. Her brown felt liat was turned up at the back with a brown and fawn feather mount and she wore a skunk necklet. Her shoes and handbag were of crocodile skin and licr gloves were pigskin. Confetti was showered on the happy couple and they left amidst many wishes for tho happy and successful’ future life, their homo being in Palmerston North,
