MRS MARY ANN SEXTON Another link with the pioneer days of the Manawatu was broken with the passing of Mrs Mary Ann Sexton, relict of the late Mr Thomas Sexton, of Ashhurst, Woodviilo and Palmerston North. .Arriving on the Ocean Mail in February, 3574, as a young girl, Mary Ann Svaboy come to tho Manawatu when Palmerston North was but a clearing in the bush. Mrs Sexton, with her young family, resided in Palmerston North for many years, but latterly in Auckland. She leaves a grownup family—Mrs J. Bower, of Auckland; Mrs Jack Bambcry, of Palmerston North; Mrs E. Prime, of Otahuhu; Mrs L. Palmer, of Otorohanga; Mrs M. Burrell, of Palmerston North; and Mr W. M. Sexton, of Timaru. Tho funeral took plaeo yesterday afternoon, and a long cortege followed the mortal remains to tho Terrace End cemetery. The pall-bearers were: Messrs J. Sexton (Stratford), H. Sexton (Takire), N. M. Sexton (Timaru), J. Boyce (Glen Oroua), J. Bambcry (Palmerston North), and E. Prime (Otahuhu). The service was conducted by Rev. AVhitby James, of St. Peter’s, Terrace End.
