i From Our Own Correspondent. Tho annual meeting of tho Hukanui Miniature Rlflo Club was held recently, when Mr C. P. Eddie presided over a’ good attendance of members. The balance sheet showed laht tip club was In a sound position. The election of oitlcors resulted as follows: Patron Mr. W. O. TAventynmn, president; Mr C..lt. Eddie, secretary; Mr. R.’ W. Lawrence, managemnt committoe; Messrs A. I<\ Lawrence, W. Watkins,C, Coster and R. W. Foss, club captain; Mr. 11. C. Rasmussen, auditor; Mr. A. G. Parker, delegates to tfto . There was a. fair attendance and the scoring was satisfactory for the beginning of the season, detais of this being as follows: — Ladies; Mrs R. W. Foss, 95; .Miss K. Eddie, 84; Mrs. W. Watkins, 78; Mrs. C. R. Eddie, 74. ’ Men: O. Coster. 94: W. Welch, 94; W. Twenty-* man, 93; C. R., 92; W. Coster, 91; H. Daldy, 90; J. Dougherty, 8S; C. Parker, 87; W. Hirst, S 3; W. Watkins, S 3; C. H. Lawrence, St; P. Webb, 77 .T. Sutherland, 48; Bovs: Colin Sutherland, 39; Alan Mabey, 19; C. Mabey, IS. Euchre Party and Dance.

The euchre party and danc-o held on April 12, in aid, of the tennis club was pdoly attended, owing probably to adverse weather conditions. The ladies first prize was won by-Miss A. Twenty man .and she passed ft on to the one bolding second place. As Mrs. Eddie and Mrs. .Sui'chcrland tied for second place, a cut off wan necessary, Mrs. Eddie being shccesful. The men's first prize was won by Mr. Wilson Twentyman, with Mr. D. Blair second. Dance music was- supplied by Mrs. W. O- Twentyman. Supper was supplied by Miss R. Eddie, Miss J.Booth, Mrs. J. Grant and It. Udy.

Personals. Miss J. Gray has left to lake up residence in Wellington for a year. Miss Kellis Eddie spent tho Easter liolidanys in Pahlatua. Mr. and Mrs. J. Grant were Hukanui visitors to Lower Hutt for the Kelly— Prendergast woddiiig. Mrs. W. Watkins and her son Allan are holidaying In Wellington. Miss E. M. Twentyman spent Easter vacation with her parents at Hukanui. Miss D. Tressider and Miss B. Stewart of Wellington, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. Tolley for the Easter holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Foley and their small grandson have, returned to Ngaio. having spent a long holiday as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gug Udy. Miss A. M. Lawrence spent the Easter vacation with relatives in Wellington. Miss M. Cottle was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Twentyman for the Easter holidays. Mr. Richard Twentyman spent the Easter vacation with ‘his parents. Mrs and Mrs. Atkins and their son Tom have been holidaying with relatives in Carterton. •

Mrs. L. .Bartosh and daughter have returned from a short visit to Lower Hutt. Mrs. F. Sparkes, of Kakariki, attended the Sunday School teachers Convention, at Carterton during Easter. Mi-. Hector Palmer and his small son, of Wellington are tho guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. Palmer of Hukanui. Miss E. Wanhara lias left, to spend a holiday in Wellington. Miss Johnson is away on holiday. Mrs. Hollard and her daughter Mrs.. Johnson, of Wellington, have been visiting tho latter's daughters, Mesdames Norman and Gordon Udy. ■ Miss Cannell, sole teacher at the L.aKariki school is away on holiday. Miss J. Booth infant mistress at the Hukanui school is holidaying with friends. Mr. L. Leith is away on holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Gray and family have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Sutherland. Miss M. Gray is staying with her sister, Mrs. J. Sutherland. Euchre Party and Dance.

The usual weekly euclu-e party and dance held in aid ol’ the Tennis, club was held last Saturday evening. Their was a good attendance and the ladies first prize was won by Miss Ada Lawrence, with Miss B. Harrington and Mrs. -Foss drawing for second place, Mrs. Foss being successful in the cut off. Mr. B. W. Foss won the men’s first prize after playnv off with Mr. Rex Udy. Music for dancing was supplied by Misses D. Leith, D. Lav\ re nce Ada. Lawrence, E. .W. Twentyman and Mrs. W. W. Watkins. Supper was supplied by Mrs. Sutherland, Mrs. loss, .Mrs. Twentyman and Miss Ada Lawrence.
