The Late Mr Robert Hanger
On Anzac Day there was laid to rest at tho Feilding cemetery Mr Robert Hanger, in the preseneo of mourners and friends representative of the different walks of life with whom Mr Hanger had been associated, who desired to express by their presence their respect and sympathy, both to his memory and to his relatives. Before tho cortege left the residence of Mr T. S. Goldsmith a short service was held by Rev. John Hubbard, M.A., 8.D., of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Palmerston North. Eloquent tributes were paid to the life and personality of deceased.
Fellow members of the local' R.S.A. and Bank of New Zealand officials assisted at the home and graveside. Amongst those present was Mr J. Hardie, secretary of the R.S.A. at Okakune, where Mr Hanger was manager of the Bank of New Zealand.
Beautiful floral tributes covered the casket and hoarse, including those from the Ohakune and Feilding R.S.A., Masonic Lodge 2SS, Feilding; Ohakune Plunket Society, staff of Bank of New Zealand, Feilding Golf Ohakune Bowling Club, besides those from private individuals.
The pall-bcarcrs were Messrs T. Hay, T. Donaldson, W. Sandilands, R. H. Buchanan (of the R.S.A.), and Messrs T. S. Goldsmith and W. McCorkindalc, of the local staff of the Bank of Now Zealand.
