Wedding Celebrated At St. Patrick’s Church

DINGWALL—GREER. St. Patrick’s Church, Broadway, was very prettily decorated on Wednesday, April 24, when Helen• Elizabeth, only daughter of Mr. P. G. Dingwall (Wanganui) aiul Mrs. V. Dingwall (Palmerston North) was married to George Nelson, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Greer, Fitzherbort West. The Sisters of Mercy were responsible for tho decorations, which consisted of masses of roses, carnations and dahlias in shades of pink and white to tone with tho bride’s dress.

The bride made a pretty picture when she entered tho church on the arm of her father. Her dress was of pale pink crepe satin with silver trimmings, a tight-fitting bodice in silver lame with a Queen Anno collar. Her veil was held by a pearl coronet and her bouquet was comprised of pale pink roses and carnations.

Accompanying the bride were two little flower girls, Josephine and Lottie Balfour-Keilv, dressed in pale bluo organdie with muffs to match, whilst two bridesmaids, Miss Ngaire Lynch and Miss Betty Greer, were dressed in pale blue ■with silver trimmings and bouquets to match. Accompanying the groom were Mrs. Colin Greer, his brother as best man and Mr. Carl Eronstrom as groomsman. Tho marriage ceremony was performed by Father Jenson, whilst -Miss Cora Bartlett played the organ. During the signing of the register a delightful soio was rendered by Miss Monica Lynch. After the ceremony an informal reception was held in the Grand Hotel, where many friends of tho happy couple assembled to wish them the best of luck. The toast of the happy couple was proposed by Mr. Dan Lynch, the bridegroom proposing the health of the bridesmaids. “The Bride’s Parents” was in the hands of Mr. H. G. Long-Ward, and the toast of Mrs. J. Lynch was proposed by Mr. George Greer. Amongst those present were: Mr. and Mrs. George Grc-er, Mrs. V. Dingwall (mother of the bride), Mr. and Mrs. P. Dingwall (Wanganui), Mrs. J. Lynch (grandmother of the groom), Mr. Dun Lynch (Tokomaru), Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Lynch (Linton), Mrs. S. Rix (Linton), Mrs. A. M. Ongiey, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Lynch (Ravenswood), Miss E. Lynch, Mr. and Mrs. E. Greer, Mr. H. D. Greer, Mr. D. R. Greer, Mrs. D. Kerslake, Mr. and Mrs. D. Higgle (Shannon), Mr. and Mrs. J. Konnard, Mr. and Mrs. Dunseath (Wanganui), Miss D. Turner (Turakina Valley), Mrs. J. Elliott, Miss R. Elliot!, Miss E. Piper, Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Bibby, Mrs. Beech (Fahiatua), Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Nash (Linton), and Mrs. W. W. Smith (Linton), Mr. W. McKenzie, and others.

The happy couple left for Hie south, getting a great send-off at the station, tho bride’s going away dress being of Parma violet corded velvet with a Russian ensemble, white fur cap and muff. The newly-married couple will reside at Millrick’s lino, Linton, where a warm welcome is being prepared for them.
