Sheffield Wednesday Win Thrilling latch

In the Cup final Sheffield Wednesday defeated West Bromwich Alhion by four goals to two. Ninety-three thousand packed Wembley Stadium to see (ho match. Special trains brought 200,000 from all parts of Britain to participate in the celebrations. The majority, .unable to see the match, enlivened London with rattles and klaxons.
Rimmer, a cinema jazz pianist, won the Cup for Sheffield Wednesday, scoring two goals in the last three minutes. In the heaviest scoring final since Bury defeated Derby County by 0 to nil, in 190 J, and acclaimed as the finest and most thrilling match since the war, Sheffield Wednesday startlingly scored within two minutes. Albion equalised after 21 minutes’ play, but Sheffield Wednesday regained the lead early in the second half. Albion again evened, performing the unprecedented feat of equalising twice in a Cup final. The Albion defence crumpled in the last few minutes against Sheffield Wednesday’s swinging passes. Rimmer, the outside-left, who thus far had been ineffective, had an inspired period. Amid thunderous cheering he snapped up two chances. Cold weather prevented the King from attending. The Prince of Wales deputised for him and presented the cup and medals amid the customary enthusiasm.
