Oroua County Elections
NO POLL FOR COUNCILLORS On Saturday nominations for the Oroua County elections closed, and as far as the council is concerned there will not be any'poll as the nominations do not exceed the number required. Mr E. Heneghan, of Ashhurst, has been nominated to fill the vacancy caused by the retirement of Mr R. MacDonald, while the remaining councillors, Messrs W. Greenhcw, A. Campbell, O. McElroy, W. McLennan, T. Green and A. B. Shannon, have been returned unopposed. In regard to the Hospital' Board seat Mr T. Green has been elected unopposed to Jill tho vacancy caused by .the retirement of Mr O. McElroy. The only contest will bo for the two seats the county has on the Power Board. For these Messrs A. Campbell, chairman of the county, and J. H. Mason and W. P. Bickers have been nominated. The retiring members were Messrs Bickers and McElroy, and the latter having indicated that he did not desire to stand again, Mr Mason was nominated. The county chairman, Mr Campbell, was nominated at tho wish of ratepayers
