2 and 1; J. Black beat Wagg, 1 up; Watson beat Parker, 4 and 2. Otago Amateur Championship Per Pres 3 Association, DUNEDIN, Last Night. The final of the Otago amateu? golf championship, played on the Balmacewan finks to-day in a heavy northeast /gale, resulted in a win for Dr. K. Ross, the other finalist, T. B'. Ferguson, putting up a good fight to go down at the 17th green, 2 and 1. Dr. Ross, who has now won the provincial championship seven times, tho first being in 1914, put up an excellent performance, showing remarkable steadiness under trying conditions.

Canterbury Championship Won by A. E. Black Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The Canterbury golf championship, decided by four rounds of medal play, was won by A. R. Blank with a score of 300. Others were: C. J. Ward 305, R. G. Arnould 307, J. Galloway 307, J. Millard 308. Southland Provincial Titles Per Pres 3 Association. INVERCARGILL, Last Night. The Southland provincial golf championships were concluded on tho Invercargill Club’s course at Otatara today in fine weather. The championship was won by J. G. Niccol (Queen’s Park, Invercargill), who defeated J. S. Dick (Invercargill) in the final, over 3G holes, by 5 and 4. The Southland Plate, a new event, in which tho four who wero defeated in the first round of the championship and the next four on the qualifying list take part, was won by J. H. MeDougall (Otago), wiio defeated 11. W. Rogers (Invercargill) in tho final, over IS holes, by 4 and 2. In the junior championship F. E. Iloldgate (Invercargill) defeated T. Double (Queen’s Park) in tho final, over 3G holes, by one hole.

Play at Auckland Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 22. The first two rounds of the Auckland provincial golf championship arc being played at Middlemore to-day. There were two surprises in the morning play, when H. Briusden was beaten by 11. Buckley, of Whangarei, and J. H. Young was beaten by another Titirangi player, Clifford. The best round of - the morning was made by B. G. Thompson, who finished 1 up on bogey. Results: — Plumley beat McCrystal, 3 and 2; Buckley beat Brinsden, S and 2; Menzies beat Barnes-Graham, 2 and 1; Clifford beat Young, 2 and 1; Edmonds (Hamilton) beat, McLean, 3 and 1; Lusk beat George, 3 and 2; Macewen beat Bailey (Whangarei), 6 and 5; Thomson beat Donald, 2 and 1.
