More Power For Mr Lang

CAUCUS DEPRIVED OF RIGHT TO ELECT LEADER United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received, Saturday, 12.15 a.m. SYDNEY, April 19. The Easter conference of the State Labour Party to-day re- ■ solved to deprive the Parliamentary Labour caucus of the timehonoured right of electing its own leader, which automatically allows Mr. J. T. Lang to continue in that office. The conference further invested Mr. Lang with the right to select his own Ministry. Many Labour stalwarts described the innovation as being most repugnant, amounting to a form of Fascism. It also forestalls any attempt to remove Mr. Lang from the leadership of the Labour Party in the event of Labour losing the forthcoming election.
