Enquiry lately has bceii more active with prices improved. Weaners, medium sorts worth 20s 22s to 245. Good, 28s to 30s. Extra good 355. At the Stratford sale, well-bred fawn jersey heifers, medium size made £2 Is. Jersey-cross fair to good up to 32s others 23s Gd to 255. For in-calf heifers there is fairly good demand for those of quality, poorer sorts are practically unsaleable. Last week Howtou Xing sold G 5 good quality two-year heifers for immediate delivery at £4 .LOs, 2G for May delivery at £4 10s Gd and for June delivery G 4 3yrs. old in-cai’f heifers at £4 10s and 40 at £3 15s. Truck lots of choice 2yr. heifers have been sold at up to £5 5s for immediate delivery. A line of empty 2yr. jersey heifers sold at 40s. At the Inglewood sale and horse fair came forward, about 25 horses. There was a good attendance of buyers and spirited bidding resulted in a satisfactory sale. In flic horse section unbrokens met a ready sale at prices ranging from £2O to £3l 10s, while brokons failed to meet vendors’ reserves, but were disposed of privately after the sale at satisfactory realisations. Prices were: Unbroken geldings £2O, £24 to £3 10s, one eight-year gelding £3O, inare and i'oal £lO, hacks to £3 JOs; fat cows.
