Girl Guides Sports Meeting at Greatford

On Saturday afternoon- Girl Guides from Alarton, South Alakirikiri and Sanson gathered together at the residence of Aliss Willis (Commissioner). Ovingdcne, Greatford, where they held their sports mcetiug in ideal surroundings and the weather proved most favourable for tho occasion. Tho events which took place during the afternoon were:—l2 years, 50 yards: C. Francis (AL) 1, D. Peareo (S.j 2, P. Cicely (Al.) 5. 12 years and under 14, 50 yards: Al. AlcDougall (S.AI.) 3, G. McDougali (S.AI.) 2, AL Kinloclc (S.M.) )3. 14 years and over, 75 yards: E. Alullin (S.) 1, V. Pagan (AL) 2, J. Raynor (AL) 3. Knotting relay; South Alakirikiri 1, Sanson 2, Alarton 3. Flag relay; Alarton 1, South Alakirikiri 2, Sanson 3. Total points secured:—--Marten, 11 points; South Makirikiri, 11 points; Sanson, 8 points. At the conclusion of the races the Guides had a nature study competition, after which four of the Sanson troop, under the direction of Aliss AL McFarlane (captain) gave a very delightful Alaori stick game. This game being new to tho other Guides, created a good deal of interest. After the serving of afternoon tea, Aliss AL Afacfari'ane, on behalf of those present, congratulated the winning teams aud also thanked Aliss Willis for allowing tho Guides to have the use of the beautiful 1 grounds for the occasion, cheers being called for Aliss Wilis. Camp-fire siDging by the Girl Guides concluded a most enjoyable' afternoon.
