Morning Wedding at St. Paul's Church, Feilding
' DONALD—KERR Shelf-pink roses with ellective touches cf blue .formed the beautiful bell that, with zinnias and Michaelmas daisies, was used in the decoration .of St. Paul’s Church for the wedding on Wedof Elsie Aphelia, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs F. L. Kerr, Awahuri road, Feilding, and Alexander Duthie, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A. D. Donald, “The Grange,” Pahiatua. The ceremony was performed by Rev. K. L. Warren, of Pahiatua (a friend) and Mr A. E. Matheson presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a very, charming streamlined gown of sheli-pink chiffon velvet which moulded her figure and was fully trained. The sleeves were long and slim-fitting and the cowl neckline was ornamented in front by a spray of orango blossom and at the hack by a diamante buckle., Her shoes we re of velvet to match, and from a Russian headdress. of orange blossom her silver, embroidered veil fell' to tho end of her train in soft folds of delicate pink tulle., A sheaf of belladonna' lilies completed a most becoming toilette. In attendance upon the bride were Miss Jean Reid, of Palmerston North, and her sisters, Misses Melva and Bubbles Kerr, tho latter small maid acting as -flower girl. The bridesmaids’ delightful gowns were of turquoise blue chiffon velvet, sleeveless and slightly trained, with which capes were worn clasped in front by brilliant buckles. They wore velvet shoes and Dolly Varden hats of blue chiffon velvet, trimmed with tiny sprays of roses. The posies carried were of apricot zinnias, dahlias and maiden-hair fern, tied with velvet ribbon to tone. A pretty Kate Greenaway frock of shell-pink chiffon velvet was worn by the flower-girl, also a bandeau of tiny pink velvet roses, and her Victorian posy was composed of pink flowers, forget-me-nots and mignonette, with streamers of floral ribbon. Mr George Stephens, of Pahiatua, was best man, the groomsman being Mr Brendou Donald, brother of the groom. The reception that followed was held at the Beresford tearooms, which presented a charming and very festive appearance decorated with pink and blue asters and belladonna lilies. Some 70 guests, among -whom were visitors from Pahiatua, Wanganui and Palmerston North, were received by Air and Mrs Kerr, tho latter wearing a frock of brown'floral marocain with hat to match and carrying a posy in autumn tints. Mrs Donald, mother of the bridegroom, wore a tunic suit of princess blue silk cordolaine, trimmed with silver fame, a hat to tone, and grey accessories. Her posy was of pink asters. The brido and bridegroom, who will make their home in Pahiatua, subsequently left by car to spend their honeymoon in Gisborne, Tauranga and Rotorua, the bride travelling in a French grey tailored suit, Oiat to match, and grey lizard skin shoes and handbag. After tho reception the wedding guests repaired to the home of the bride’s parents to view tho many handsome wedding presents and to spend a. .very bright and happy afternoon.
