Manawatu Ladies’ Golf Club

ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Manawatu Ladies’ Golf Club was held yesterday afternoon in the sitting-room of the club house, Mrs J. P. Innes presiding over a record attendance of over fifty members. The annual report presented bv the secretary (Mrs L. Seifert) showed that the past season had been an exceptionally successful one. The club’s membership was now 168. It was also stated that about DO players took part in the competitions, and that 7 B grade players had qualified for the A grade and 9 juniors for the B grade. The annual tournament was most successful, there being a further record entry. The open championship was won by Miss M. Garner, a member of the club, who also won tho Frceth course record cup with a score of 78. The club’s championship was won by Mrs J. I* 1 . Field; middle-weight championship by Mrs B. Jacobs, and tho junior championship by Mrs B. Marsack. Ninety-one contributed to tho trophy funds. Twelve inter-club matches were played during tho season. A team from Manawatu went to Mastcrton to try and bring back the Rapley cup, but was unsuccessful. Tho Mina Seifert cup for inter-club matches for players with handicaps of 19 and over was challenged for three times during the season, Manawatu still being in possession of the cup. Sirs L. Cooper presented a cup for tho four-ball competition, which was unanimously accepted by tho members who passed a hearty vole of thanks lo the donor. Club Competitions The competitions will be played in tho same order as last seasou, with the exception of tho season’s trophies for which new conditions will be posted in the club house. The first competition of the season will be played on Tuesday, April 30, for Mrs Innes’ points trophies. The following were elected new members: —Afesdames E. J. Anstis, T. C. Birch, J. A. Colquhoun, L. Gardner, E. E. Lower, E. Alabin, D. C. McDonald, North, A. V. Fizzey, TV. B. Tcnnent, Ivan 'Wilson, Hunter Will, R. Stevenson Dr. Gillies, Misses J. CJolqtill oun, Mcßae, McLeod, Ida Hanlon, and K. Slinnd. Election of Officers

Officers were elected for the ensuing year as follow: —President, Mrs L. A. Abraham; vice-presidents, Mrs J. P. Tunes and Mrs A. E. Ekstcdt; captain, Mrs J. F. Field; committee, Mesdames

L. F. Speechi'ey, A. AfcKegg, J. C. Young and Al. Gabriel; hon. secretary, Mrs L. Seifert (re-elected); assistant hon. secretary, Airs L. Cooper. Hearty votes of thanks wore accorded Airs J. F. Field, captain; Airs L. Seifert, hon. secretary; Airs L. Cooper, assistant lion, secretary; also Airs J. P. Innes for presiding. Medal Competition

The trophies for tlis competition over 9 holes, A grade, was won by Airs R. hr. Harding, 43 —3—40; B grade by Airs It. C. Luke, 51—11—40.
