McCulloch, fields superintendent of the Agriculture Department in Palmerston North, was yesterday appointed to a position on the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association.

<*>-$- <S> <S> At its meeting yesterday, the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association appointed Messrs D. Collis and J. Batchclar as delegates to the annual meeting of the Royal Agricultural Society. <S> <S> <s> <S> Mr J. H. Claridge, who for about six years has been attached to the Plant Research Station in Palmerston North as assistant agronomist, has been transferred to Wellington, and will commence his duties in that centre next week. <s>«><s> <S> At its annual meeting last night, the Old Boys’ Football Club elected Mr 0. Galpin as an honorary life member. This step was a recognition of Mr Galpin’s unfailing interest in the club, and particularly of ■ his services as coach to the senior team. Mr Galpin is the second member to bo so honoured. <S> Q <» <s> A plea that players should endeavour to take the field "more -spick and span” was made by Mr J. W. Rulherfurd, president, at the annual meeting last night of the Old Boys’ Football Club. Not only on the spectators, baton the players themselves, appearance had a great effect, said the president. At a later stage the meeting decided to recommend the committee to establish a jersey fund, to be devoted chiefly to furnishing an outfit for the team playing on the oval.
