From Uui Qua Correspondent. A meeting of ex-pupils of the Apifi School convened by Mrs. A. Belk (Feilding; was held on Thursday evening-. Mr. W. M. Duncan was elected to the chair. It was decided to hold a re-union gathering in May. The, functions last year were so enjoyable that the majority favoured renewing old school friendships at a social evening this year. The committee elected was Mr. W. M. Duncan (president;, Mr. \V. (I. Morris (secretary), Miss Peggy Swift (assistant secretary), Mesdames A. Belli (Feilding), L. Bayliss, R. Hooper, Miss M. Digby, Messrs. R. V. Stewart, P. G. Guy (Feilding), R, Pratt, Don Harland, P. Malone. Miss Hazel I-laswell, who returned by the Wanganella last week from an exfeuded holiday in Tasmania and New South Wales, is at present visiting her aunt, Miss J. F. Jensen, before returning to her home in AVaipukurau. School Picnic. Friday was a fine and warm day and by ten o’clock in the morning excited children were gathering at the domain for the school picnic. The school committee members, Messrs. H. AVildbore, W. Hogan, A. \V. Benseman, R. V. Stewart and B. Waterson were ably assisted by Mr. G. H. Gubbins and Miss Osborno in the running of tho sports programme. The Lime passed all too quickly for the children who enjoyed games interspersed in tlie sports events. Mesdames Wildboro, Hogan, R. V. Stewart, A. AV. Benseman, B. Waterson, Warnock, Harland and other willing helpers served lunch and afternoon tea, after which each child received a bag of sweets. Regret was expressed that so few parents attended, although this fact did not mar tlie pleasure of tlie children, who were well entertained by the commltteemon, teachers and helpers. Payton, B. Churcher, A. Benseman, N. Churcher, M. Nix, H. Warnock, S. Prujean. Tho relay race was won by Shirley Prujean’s team; singlo ladies’ race: Miss Fowells 1, Miss .1. Mapson 2, Miss M. Malone 3. Winners in boys’ events were:—C. Robinson, T. Wildboro, D. Prujean, J. Benseman, F. Le Quesne, E. Brungar, N. Prujean, Rex White, S. Le Quesne, W. Morris, R. Benseman. L. Powell, L. Hogan, C. Watkins, C. flogan, W. Benseman, D. Payton, Waterson, M. Osborne, R. Harland, F. Mapson, E. AVildbore, S. AVatkins, R. Prince, B. Prujean, Don Stewart. F. Churcher, R. Hitchman, C. Mapson, V. Wildbore, AV. Malone. The boys’ relay race was won by C. Mapson’s team. Bicycle race: F. Churcher 5, W. Malone 2, K. Stanley 3. Through the kindness of Air. Barlow, each school child was given a, pass to the talkies on Saturday evening to see the English film, “The Song of the Plough.”
