February Wedding
VINE—STEPHENS. A quiet but very pretty w’edding was solemnised at the Church of Christ, Newtown, Wellington, on Saturday, February 23, the contracting parties being Ellen Margaret Stephens, daughter of Mrs. J. Powell, Carnarvon, and Stanley, son of Major and Mrs. E. Vine, of 309 Mansfield street, Newtown, Wellington. The bride entered the church escorted by Mr. Join Powell, wearing a dainty brown tailored costume with hat and shoes to tone, and she carried a beautiful shower bouquet, the gift of an aunt. She was attended by Miss Muriel Hebbell, of Palmerston* North, as bridesmaid. The duties of best man were ably carried out by Mr. Alex Stephens. Mrs. W. Sandercock, of Carnarvon, presided at the organ. At the conclusion of the service, the guests were received by Mrs. E. Vine and Mrs. J. Powell, and then partook of the usual wedding breakfast, where the happy couple received showers of good wishes and their health was toasted with musical honours. Many beautiful presents were received and telegrams of, good wishes for their future prosperity. On returning from their honeymoon, they intend to settle in Wellington, where Mr. Stan Vino is a member of tho Municipal Tramway service. Prior to her marriago Mrs. Vino was a resident for many years of this district, and had taken a great interest in furthering any worthy cause and giving valuable support, more especially in assisting the Clydesdale School in any form, for any good cause in which she was ably backed up by Mr. and Mrs. J. Powell, worthy and esteemed residents.
The best of good luck is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Stan. Vino and prosperity in their future married life, from, district residents, friends and wellwishcrs of the happy couple.
