A further match in the Hunter Shield series was commenced at Dannevirke on Saturday when Woodville met Dannevirke. Winning tho toss, Dannevirke oleeted to have first use of the wicket, but failed badly with the hat. At one stage they had lost five wickets for three runs, hut Ward 17, Bolt 13, and Moore 13 not out saved a debacle and the innings filially closed for a modest total of 58 runs. Woodville replied with 155, of which Nicholson Git, Stanboi-ougli 23, P. Burlace 19, C. Gallon 15 were the chief contributors. The match will be concluded next Saturday. Following are the scores: —

Continuing the competition interclub matches on Saturday, Woodville met Feilding on the local courts and were defeated by 10 matches to six, after some very interesting games. In the B grade, Woodville met Bunnythorps at Bunnvthorpe and were defeated easily by 15 sets and 105 games to 1 set and 41 games. Bowls. The club championship for 1935 was decided on tho local green last week when C. Forbes defeated 11. P. Horne. Thu championship was played on a two life system and when the final stages were reached, Horne had two lives and Forbes one. In the first final a very close and interesting game resulted, the score being even on tho 21st head, necessitating an additional head being played, which Forbes won with one shot. Another match was now necessary as each player still had one life and this game was played on Friday afternoon, when Forbes won with one shot.
