PRICE OF PERMANENT SCAR ON LIP Judgment for the full amount claimed was entered by Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Bainierstoii North yesterday, wheu Evelyn Savage, in infant, of Inglewood, claiming" through D'Ar.cy Harold Savage, farmer, sought to recover £54 3s from B. C. Nicholson, a Napier undertaker. The sum sought was the monetary value of damage sustained by plaintiff through receiving a permanent scar on the upper lip. , , According to the written claim, ap incident occurred in the Manawatu Jorge on May 9 of last year between lefendant's car and on,e .driven by C, J. Savage, with plaintiff as a passenger. Careless and negligent driving were imputed to Nicholson. As a result of the smash, claimed Evelyn Savage, her rpper lip would be permanently scarred. She asked for £3 3s medical expenses, £1 travelling expenses, and £SO general jompensation. Mr. A, M. Ongley represented plaintiff ind Mr. H. R. Cooper, the defendant. The facts were admitted and counsel idviscd the Court that medical opinion secured by both plaintiff and defendant rvas to the effect that the scar on the upper lip would be permanent. In that ease, commented the Magistrate, the damages did not appear to be excessive and ho entered judgment for the full amount accordingly.
