Wiley Post, testing the “stratosphere plane” with which his world famous Winnie Mae is specially equipped for high altitude flying, reached a speed of 300 miles an hour to-day at an altitude of live miles. Within a few days (perhaps to-morrow) Post expects to start his' cross-continental non-slop flight to New York maintaining an altitude of over five miles. Air France have announced a network of high-speed airways linking London, Paris, South America, lndoChina, Rome, Cannes and Scandinavia, which is being inaugurated ou April 1.

Paris is to be reached in .11 hours, Rome in 8j hours, Copenhagen in 290 minutes, and Cannes in 410 minutes.
