Valuable Scrap Silver Cargo Disappears
LORRY FOUR DAYS OVERDUE United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Sunday, 7 p.m. NEW YORK, Nov. 17. The police in seven Eastern States have been ordered to search for a large lorry carrying 19,000 pounds of scrap silver, valued at 125,000 dollars, which was stolen while en route here from the Eastman Kodak Company plant at Rochester (New York.) No word has been received from the lorry crew, which is now four days overdue. The metal was consigned to a refinery here, presumably to he smelted for delivery to the Federal Treasury under the nationalisation order.
