Typhoon in Philippines Takes Heavy Toll

BETWEEN 200 AND 300 ESTIMATED KILLED Received Sunday, 7.30 p.m. MANILA, Nov. 17. As fragmentary reports continue to come from insular provinces, it is estimated that between 200 and 300 were killed by a typhoon which swept the islands during the middle of the week. Porty-one bodies have been recovered on Luzon Island, in which Manila is situated. No definite estimate can be made as there are many islands from which no communications have yet been received. About 200 are believed to be dead in Tayabas province, where many were washed to sea.
