NIGHT-FLYING IN RAINSTORM

Expected to reach Melbourne shortly after midnight (New Zealand time) Parmentier, in the Douglas DC2, lost his bearings in a rainstorm and crossed the New South Wales border, being reported over several towns well off his route. Radio advice was given to him and he was still being told at 3 o’clock this morning to steer south-west, he then being in the vicinity of Albury. SAFE LANDING AT ALBURY" At approximately 3.15 a,m. (New Zealand time) it was reported that Parmentier and Moll had landed safely on the Albury racecourse. Parmentier was accorded a wonderful reception on landing.
