The Manawatu Golf Club’s annual tournament was continued at Hokowhitu yesterday under perfect conditions, the day being delightfully tine and the course in perfect order. The match play events were advanced to the semi-final stages and those still remaining in the championship arc Trevor Louisson, W. T. Ivuru (Waipukurau), A. E. Guy and L. Seifert, the lastnamed being the title-holder.
The feature of the second day’s play, however, was the remarkable effort of K. S. Glendinning, who, in his first round match against N. H. Amon (Rangitikci) completed the course in 69, Glendinning being the first amateur to achieve the distinction of breaking 70 on the Hokowhitu course.
