FOREIGN OFFER DECLINED (British'Official Wireless.) # RUGBY, Oct. 18. Lord Nuffield, formerly Sir William Morris and head of Alorris Motors, Limited, disclosed at a meeting yesterday that some years ago a foreign offer was made for tho purchaso of the Alorris organisation and its allied concerns at £11.000,000, but he felt that by accepting it lie would be selling liis own country, and ho therefore refused. Foreign interests, he added, had also tried to acquire tho Wolseley Company, which is under Ms control.

The Daily Telegraph states that the offer was made in 1926 by a large United States motor combine.
