Fashions Affect Budget
Sir P. Cunlilfc-Lister, Colonial' Secretary, gave the House of Commons a gratifying account of the recovery Avhicli the Colonics luid made in the last twelve months, and of the trade advantages both to the Colonies and the Home country of preferential tarill’s, states the Daily Mail.

He spoke of snakeskin, this “flamboyant material of -which some of the most lovely shoes arc made to adorn the elegant feet of the women of this country.” He hoped sincerely that the fashion would last. So keen was now the trade in pythons that a nativo chief informed him the other day that he was "going to institute a close time for pythons in the breeding season.”
