Last evening the Mayor (Mr A. E. Hansford), speaking from 2ZE, earnestly requested that something should bo done by the public to remedy the situation. The Mayor also spoko of an urgent case in which a relief worker’s family, in sorely necessitous straits, were in imperative need of a pram. Here, too, Mr Mansford urged the people of the district to rally to the succour of a case of pitiable want.
