Stavisky Affair Echo
lode of 1. Prince’s Death Still Disputed
POLICE DOCUMENT CAUSES STIR United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Friday, 7.40 p.m. PARIS, Sept. 21. The Stavisky Commission published a police report on the lifo of M. Prince, whoso dead body was found near a railway lino in March following the Stavisky scandal. Tko evidence included a statement by Madame Nolin, the barrister’s wife, that Prince admitted liking to associate with the lowest types, and added that on the morning of Prince’s death Madams Prince telephoned to her, ‘‘Albert has committed suicide under a train.” Prince’s family contradictod the allegation, maintaining that lie was murdered. There was other cvidenco alleging that Prince sought the company of women. Conservatives regard the report as an attempt to besmirch Prince, who, they declare, was murdered at the behest of Left Wingers because he knew 100 much about Stavisky.
Left Wingers maintain that the suicide theory is justified. Foreign observers incline to the view that the murder theory more easily fils in with the facts. The London Daily Mail’s Paris correspondent states that such a sensation has been created in Franco by the publication of the Prince report that M. Doumcrgue has called a special Cabinet meeting to-day to consider the document.
