Communist deputies created a scene when the r .itch Parliament reassembled and were forcibly removed. Simultaneously, Communists assembled outside the office of the Ministry of Social Affairs and became riotous when refused an interview with the Minister.
Queen Willielmina was cheered when driving through the streets to Parliament, The speech from the throne did not contain the expected announcement of Princess Juliana’s betrothal.
The Communist disturbance arose when a senior Parliamentarian at the < nclusion of the Queen’s speech raised the traditional cry of “Long Live the Queen.” Two Communist deputies, one of which is a Japanese, shouted “Down with the Royal House,” but other deputies immediately seized them and threw them out.
London schoolchildren are improving. The number reported to be suffering from malnutrition in 1933 was 4.7 per cent, the lowest figure ever recorded for London;
