Miss Beryl Oakley has been selected by tho Garrison Band Committee to represent that organisation in the forthcoming queen carnival. Mrs Clulow, of Pahiatua, who returned recently from a visit to the Old Country, is at present visiting Palmerston North. Very deep sympathy will go out to Fir Hector Bell of Fcfguson street, in the death of his wife, which occurred at the hospital on Tuesday evening, and to the bereaved parents. Fir and Firs F. O. Amos, of Albert street. Tho deceased lady, who was only 2.1 years of age, was willing at all times to share her talents for any worthy object, and her early demise will bo deplored by a wide circle of friends.
