Cycling

The M'anawatu Amateur Cycling Club conducted its usual mid-rveek race yesterday under ideal weather conditions. Tho course was to Bulls and return, a distance of 36 miles. Eleven riders faced tho starter and good times were registered, though the riders had a stiff head wind to contend with on tho outward journey. E. Woollett (15min.) crossed the lino flrst to win comfortably from F. Christensen (15min.) with L. Hayes (13min.) half a wheel away third. G. Esau (4min.) and G. Little (4min.) dead-heated for fastest time. L. Hayes (13min.) secured second fastest and F. Manning third fastest. The result was:— E. Woollett (ISrnin.) timo lhr. 46 min. 55sec 1 F.
