SMALL LIST YESTERDAY Mr ,1. L. Stout, S.M., presided over a short sitting of the Palmerston North Magistrate’s Court j'cstcrday. For cycling at night without, alight Frank Lionel Buddeii was obliged to pay 10s, with 3s costs, George Frederick Richardson, of Pctonc, was fined 10s and 10s costs for not having a proper warning device on his motor-cycle. A. charge was preferred against Reginald Jlaliday Crutchlcy that, on August 25, ho carried on business as a second-hand dealer without being the holder of a. license. Senior-Sergeant AVhilchouso staled that it was the sequel !o a case where a boy had recently been charged with stealing brass-cups from the railway yards; the man had bought the material. Ho had previously applied for a license but had been refused. Mr Rolling appeared for accused, who was fined £2, with 10s costs. A month was allowed in which to pay the fine.
