The Coif Club brought a most successful year to a finish on Friday evening when the members were entertained at dinner. Several toasts were honoured and the president presented tho tiopines won during the season. This year Bier had been a competition each week-end for both ladies and men. The majoiity of these in the ladies’ section were won by Airs. A. AlcCaskie and others _ were won by Airs. H. Thompson and Aliss B Kreger. A miniature cup for the ladies championship was won by Aliss C. Meads who also won a miniature for a handicap competition. Alcdals were won by Aliss Aleads (2) and Airs. AlcCaskie. The men s championship was won by Fankhauser. Tho Haythornc shield was won by A. AlcCaskie. Aledals were won by Alessrs W. E. Bushier, H. Thompson and T. Morgan. The B grade championship was won by P, Jewell. Various other trophies for tho weekly competitions were won by G. Kreger, W. E. Bosliier, B. 1. Couper, A. J. Tompkins, B, A. Aleads, N. F. and C. Saywell. After tho dinner a dance wa3 held, music being supplied by Messrs J. Carr and F. Clarke. Extras wero played by Air. .S. Aloess. Atcssrs N. Saywell and W. E. Bosliier were M.’sC. The annual meeting of the Tennis Club was held on Tuesday evening, and despite the inclement weather prevailing was Very well attended. The balance-sheet showed a very sound financial position. It is intended to get; quotations from some firms with a. view to improving one or both of the courts. Tho officials for the ensuing year were elected as follow; President. Air. T. Morgan; club captain, Air. N. Pay well; secretary, Air. A. R. Pettigrew. Aliss B. Martin and Air. \V. Martin were added to tho general committee. Owing to tho very wintry weather prevailing the meeting of the W.f. was postponed from last Tuesday till the ISth instant. The speakers for the afternoon will bo Atesdames Stanley and Gubbins, of Apiti. Tlio competitions will lie for ilie prettiest vase of spring flowers with foliage. and the best buttonhole, to be made iu the room.
