Manawatu Motor Club

SEASON’S HILL-CLIMBING OPENED The club opened its 1934-./5 season yesterday with a very successful hid* climbing competition. The wcat.ici was perfect and the event attracted a most satisfactory entry. Besides representatives from tho local clubs, riders were present from both Wanganui and Levin. Twenty-two entrie.wero received lor the flexibility class, which on this occasion was judged on a points basis. Tho “bill" was divided into four sections of 50 yards each, two of which had to be ridden at slow speeds and two at fast. The ultimate winner gained maximum points in the fast sections, whilst the next two who tied for second place divided the points in the slow sections. For the speed climb, over a measured distance twelve competitors faced the starter. Tho competition was very close and necessitated a run-off for second place. The following were tho results: Flexibility Glass Midland rose bowl and pocket wal let, donated by Mr W. 11.. Brown: H. Robson (3i Norton), G points, 1; RLimbrick (2J Indian) and O.
