Hockey in Feilding

LADIES’ COMPETITION FINALS. At Victoria Park, Feilding, on Saturday afternoon two very interesting games of women’s hockey were played; the first between Carnarvon and Hinekoa for the championship, tho second between Colyton and High School Old Girls in tho final of tho sealed handicap competition. Somo excellent hockey was seen in both games, Carnarvon by two goals scored by E. 11111 won as Ilinckoa were only able to place the ball in the net once, B. Worsfold being the scorer, 3m the first spell Carnarvon had tho better of the game and Ilinckoa were better in the second half. Alessrs. K. Rpss and A. H. Packer ably controlled the game. Colyton were too good for H.5.0.G., winning by two goals to nil (scorers A. Funston and Jean Anderson). Colytou were tho aggressors all through tho game and tho Old Girls defended very well. Colyton has improved more than any team iu the association and deserved their popular win. Tho umpires wero G. A. Alacleod and E. A. Garlick. The trophies won were presented by Mr. A. H. Packer in two nice speeches of short length. Next Saturday the end-of-season tourney wall bo held. This will be seven-aside for women and five-aside for men. Good entries ate expected.
