Salvation Army’s Service to America
EVANGELINE BOOTH'S WORK (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Sept. 5. Among many messages of congratulation received by Commander Evangeline Booth, General-elect of tho Salvation Army, is one from President, Roosevelt, in which he pays tribute to the Army’3 work for tho nmeloriatiou of human suffering and for tho preservation of high spiritual ideals. The cablegram adds: "Through your efforts as Commandcr-in-Chicf of tho Salvation Army in the United States you have earned the gratitude and admiration of millions of your countrymen.” Commander Booth will leavo for the United States on Saturday, returning returning to England to take over the to England to take over the command of the Armv on November 10.
