Fireproof Gloves for Airmen
Order 3 for a stock of Arc-resisting gloves havo been placed by tho British Air Minister Asbestos gloves now from part of tho standard fire-fighting equipment of tho Royal Air Force, and it is thought that they may prove valuable in case of accident in which aircraft burst into flames after a crash. Stringent tests were made before the order was given, including grasping a red-hot. half-inch steel bar, and holding tho gloved hand in tho forced draught of a forgo lire for thirty seconds. The tests wore passed satisfactorily.
