From Our Own Correspondent, The fortnightly euchre tournament conducted under the auspices of the local All Saints’ Church committee, was held last Friday evening, there being a good attendance. The play resulted in a win Cor Mrs. J. Burmeister with Mrs. Thompson, of Kopane', second in the ladies’ section. The men’s prize was won by Mr. R. Kirkland, with Mr. Thompson second after a play-off between tho respective winners and Mr. A. Divehall. A competition box of chocolates was annexed by Mr. Thompson. Supper was served by the ladies at conclusion of play. Congratulations aro extended to Mr. Norman Hyde, who was recently successful in gaining third position in tho North Island road cycle championship held at Hawera. The Kairanga Table Tennis Club has finalised arrangements for a dance to be hold next Wednesday evening. This is a fitting conclusion to the season, and it promises to be an enjoyable evening’s entertainment. The B team visited Kelvin Grove recently to play their final match of the season against Kelvin Grove B team. Play resulted in a win for Kairanga by 23 games to 13. Mr. and Mrs. W. Davey and family, of Hastings, are at present staying with Mr. and Mrs. W. Davey. Mrs. Clark has as her guest Mrs. Gawlth, of Lower Hutt, and Mrs. Clark, of Palmerston North. Miss A. Lancaster, of Westmere, who has been holidaying with Mrs. 11. Turner and Mrs. O. Collis* has returned.
