Raid on Smokers
A raid on smokers was carried out recently by the German police in the woods of the Grunewald, a favourite spot for week-enders on the outskirts of Berlin. In view of the great danger of forest fres, an order had been, issued against smoking in the woods. Tho raid, in the woods of the German newspaper, provided a “horrifying picture of the lack of discipline among hikers.” About 280 persons were summoned; 74 were warned and fined on the spot; and eight, who “made a fuss,” were forcibly dealt with.
