Dental Profession Longburn

From Our Own Correspondent. The Longburn Tennis Chib held its annual dance last Thursday evening. In spite of the bad weather, quite a good crowd assembled. The hall was tas fully decorated with greenery. The foi lowing were among the ladies present. Misses J. Hearsey. cream crepe; A. rennent, blue organdie; M. Tennent, pmh organdie; D. Tennent, pink georgette, ufchamebrlain, purple velvet; V. Berryman, green lace; H. Hill, floral georgette, r. Marshall, lame satin; N. Fletcher, black silk ninon; R. Birch, maroon \el“ vet; T. Shirriffs, blue organdie; I. Parlato, black velvet; J. Dyer, black velvet, N. Oliver, blue satin; L. Hearsey, pink silk voile; M. Holder, blue satin; E. Sadd, floral georgette; R. Learmonth, blue crepe; M. Rowland, daffodil phantom crepe; B. Stevens, sea blue squared silk, D. Blake, red velvet; G. Dorn, red velvet; B. Parker, check taffota; V. Parker, cream lace; J. Morley, blue organdie; E. Bezant; Mrs. Godfrey, white crepe; Mrs. P. Lane, bluo satin; Mrs. Clarke black crepe. The euchre was won by Mrs. J. Hearsey and Mr. C. Shirriffs, while the consolation prizes went to Mrs. G. Mabey and C. Hills, junr. Two Monte Carlos were staged during the evening, the first being won by Mrs. J. Campbell and Mr, H. Bowler, while the second went to Miss M. Tennent and Mr. Lyndon. The competition for the evening was won by Mr. \V. 'Williamson. Mr. A. Nicol, the president of the club, congratulated the club on its success in winning the B section of the Manawatu Association tourney and pointed out the benefits of the game. He then presented the cups to their respective winners as follow: —Mrs. Godfrey, ladies’ championship; Miss U. Chamberlain, ladies’ handicap; Mr. E. L. Jewell, men’s championship; Mr. I. Davey, men s handicap. Mr. W. Aldersley made a capable M.C.
