Cunningham, of Kansas, was second. Jack Torrance, Louisiana State Univorsity, put the 101 b. shot 55ft. Sin. for a world record. Glen Hardin, Torrance’s team-mate, set a new world record for 400 metres hurdles in .ol.Sscc. Lovelock Third in Mile LONDON, July 1. Tho mile at the southern championships at Guildford yesterday was won by A. V. Reeve in *lmin. 14 4-ssec., with S. Woodcrson second and J. E. Lovelock (New Zealand) third. Lovelock was beaten at the tape by Woodcrson, two vards behind the winner.'
