From Our Own Correspondent. The basketball girls held a successful concert and dance on Wednesday night and In spite of the wet night there was a good attendance. The programme, which was enjoyed by all, was as follows:—Pianoforte duet, AlissesL. Irvine and N. Lynch; song, Air. Walker, recitation, Daisy Lister; song, AVinnie Terry; tap dance, Aliss Alarcella Edwards; song, Airs. T. Lynch; recitation, Miss Norma Terry; fancy dance, Miss L. and AI. Edwards. All responded to encores. The accompanists were Mesdames Batchelar, Aferriman, AlcAlahon, Miss Ruth Terry and Air. J. L. Nash. The basketball girls put on a piayette, tho cast being: "Alarjorie,” Aliss Lorna Rix; "Grace," Aliss F. Heard; “Kate,” Aliss N. Lynch; "Aliss Brown," Aliss Kath Terry. Aliss Currin and Aliss Ruth-Terry were joint Al.’sC. Aliss Ruth Terry thanked tho public for their help and attendance. Dance music was supplied by Alesdames. Batchelar, Alerriman, Messrs tAlcAlahon, J. L. Nash, N. Greer, L. Wilson and G. Alerriman. Winners of the dances were: Aliss Jolly and Air. O. Batchelar, Lucky Gay Gordons; Aliss Ngairo Lynch and Air. J. Irvine, Alonte Carlo. A tin of sweets made and donated by Aliss Adele Craw was won by Air. K. Moyes. Dancing was kept up until a late hour. The June meeting of the W.T. was’held on Saturday last and owing to sickness and colds the attendance was not as large as usual. Airs. T. D. Lynch presided and a considerable amount of business was put through. Arrangements were made for tho group rally to bo held on July 14.

Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs. R. Coker and Miss Lynda Irvine..

The weekly shoot of the Linton Rifle Club took place on Wednesday and the scores were as follow: —-H. Mcßrearty 87, 36—123; L. Wilson 87, 37—124;.- G. Merriman 93, 37—130; G. Hampson ;88, 36 124; S.
